Writing CVs Print
Everyone has their own opinion about how a CV should be laid out - but on the whole the golden rule is to keep it simple but informative. Ideally you want to give enough information to prospective employers to convince them that you're worth interviewing - but not so much that you put them off!

Aim to keep the CV no more than 2-4 pages long
Highlight relevant achievements and recent responsibilities
Keep the CV general - use a covering letter to make your application job-specific.

Interviews Print
You've got as far as an interview - how do you get one stage further? One of the most important things you can do before an interview is to prepare. Remember that an interview should be a two way conversation - giving both you and the interviewer the opportunity to find out more about each other.

Ensure you have enough information on both the company and the job before attending interview - Direct Staff can supply you with specific and relevant information for each job interview you attend .

Have your questions prepared in advance - the position, technology, working environment etc.

Think about the questions that are likely to be put to you........Why do you want the job? What skills and qualities would make you succeed in the role ?

Dress appropriately for the interview - if in doubt dress smart rather than dress down

After the interview be sure to give us some feedback - we will talk to companies and get their opinions.
